Ukrainian duo Kristina Yarosh and Anna Khodkova, who work under the name etchingroom1, created a mural during a residency in 2023, which is now displayed on the Beacon Tower at ESW and connects to their new exhibition at Edinburgh Printmakers. The work taps into a long lineage of political murals as expression of collective struggles and messages of hope amongst terrible events. It is a work of art and activism, emblematic of our time which speaks of the artists’ experiences of conflict and of their resilience.
The mural is viewable every day from near the cafe patio.
