This page explains what personal data Plansemble keeps, why, who else handles it, and what you can do about it. The short version: we keep what you put in so the app can work, we show your friends only what the app says it shows them, and we don’t sell anything or run ads.
Who we are
Plansemble (plansemble.com) is run by New New Consulting Ltd, the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us at hello@plansemble.com.
What we keep
- Your account: your email address, a display name if you set one, and a password if you set one — held only as a one-way hash by our sign-in provider, never readable by us.
- What you put in: the shows you track and their status, the dates you pick, ratings, notes and who you’re going with; your taste preferences; plans you make or answer, and your votes; shows you add yourself; feedback you send.
- Your friends: who you’re connected to, and the email address of anyone you invite who hasn’t joined yet — used to send that invitation and to connect you if they sign up.
- Technical data: our hosting and database providers log requests (including IP address and browser type) to keep the service running and secure. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
Browsing the programme needs no account. Beyond those request logs and page counts, we keep nothing about you while you do.
Who sees it
- Your friends see the shows on your list with their status and the dates you’ve picked, and your History — past shows and the ratings you gave them. They never see your notes, or your ratings of this year’s shows.
- People in a plan with you see your name and your votes on that plan.
- Shows you add yourself are visible to you, your friends and the members of any plan that includes them.
- Nobody else. We don’t sell personal data, share it with advertisers or use it to build profiles for anyone else.
Why we use it
- To provide the service you signed up for (contract): your list, plans, friends and recommendations.
- Legitimate interests: keeping the service secure, sending the emails the app sends — a plan invitation, a friend request, and the evening digest of your upcoming shows (switch it off in Settings, or with the unsubscribe link in any digest) — and sending the one invitation a friend asked us to send.
Who handles it for us
- Supabase — our database and sign-in; data stored in the EU (Ireland).
- Vercel — hosting and page-view analytics.
- Resend — delivering the emails the app sends.
- Google Fonts — your browser loads the site’s typefaces from Google, which receives your IP address to serve them.
Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where your data leaves the UK, it is protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
Cookies and storage
We use no advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser’s local storage holds what the app needs to work as you asked: your sign-in session, your colour theme, whether you’ve finished the taste set-up or dismissed a notice, and a friend link you accepted while signing up. None of it is used to follow you anywhere else.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. Delete your account in Settings and your account and everything linked to it are deleted; copies in our provider’s routine backups expire shortly after. An invitation to someone who never joins is deleted with the account of whoever sent it.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to have it in a portable form. Email hello@plansemble.com. If you’re unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Plansemble is not meant for anyone under 13, and we don’t knowingly keep their data.
Changes
If this changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top; for a change that matters, we’ll tell you in the app.
