Traverse Theatre, 10 Cambridge Street, Edinburgh EH1 2ED
Glasgow. 2004. Kevin keeps to himself in his desolate high-rise flat between shifts at the bookies. Unannounced, his childhood friend Billy comes home from Iraq, asking one too many questions about what he sees on the TV. With a country at war with itself just outside their windows, these two young men get caught in a pressure cooker of fear, paranoia, and mistrust. Over 20 years since its debut, Davey Anderson’s blistering drama about violence and the power of media returns in a new production directed by Fraser Scott. Snuff was first performed at the Arches Theatre, Glasgow, in April 2005. The production then transferred to the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh, for the 2005 Festival Fringe, and toured the UK in 2006 in a co-production with the National Theatre of Scotland.
